I’ll tackle our broken local train service

People of South London are being let down by this Tory Government.

Private rail companies like Southeastern Rail are putting profit before people and South Londoners are paying the price with a stressed and overcrowded commute.

Delayed services, packed carriages, cancelled trains, we all have to face this every day just to get to work and see our families and friends.

On top of that we are paying over £400 more a year under the Tories. That is a huge amount of money to people who are working hard for their families and I know we can do better.

Labour is bringing the Bakerloo extension to Lewisham which will help, but it’s not enough. I will fight to extend the Bakerloo line to Catford and beyond.

We need to nationalise rail services so that the public are in control and I will support the Labour party to make this happen when we are in government.

I’ll make tackling our broken local train service one of my top priorities because Lewisham East deserves better than this.
